Focus On The Eyes!

You've found your light, turned off your flash, tidied up your background, framed 'em up, and found the light in their eyes. Now what? Get 'em in focus, that's what! We can't stress enough that every camera is different - and you must read your manual to find out how exactly yours works! If your camera gives you the option to choose what to focus on via a focus selector or pressing the button half-way down, then choose the inner corner your subject's eyeball that's nearest to the camera. If your camera is less sophisticated or you just want to TAKE A PICTURE NOW!!!, then put your camera in automatic mode and snap! Stop to look at the lcd screen - did you get everything in focus? Well guess what - you really can't tell from just looking at the lcd screen! We can't tell you how many times we've taken "great" pictures via the tiny little LCD screen only to load 'em up on the computer and see that they were really blurry at full size. You just can't see the details unless you take a moment to zoom in to that eyeball and make sure that the lines are crisp and full of detail. Here are some examples of what appear to be in-focus pictures far away....blah blah blah.
