In my mind these three little tots are the best of friends and have been long before the first hug or kiss ever happened. And luckily for me earlier this week, me and their mama were able to put that theory to the test, when little Luna came across the pond from her native London, to play in the parks of New York City!
You tell me, friends for life?

If there are still any questions, I think these smiles tell the rest of the story!

Momtography 101: LIGHT, find the good stuff and you can't go wrong!
Momtographer Adina, is lucky enough to find herself living with a Poptographer who is pretty handy with a camera himself! It's a good thing too, because thanks to his handy Canon Rebel, beautiful lighting, and an eye for capturing the moment, Adina now how this GORGEOUS portrait of her sweet face daughter Nola!
Shot with his Canon Rebel XT and natural light:

and this time we can see where she gets her beauty from!

"One of the great things about using a point and shoot camera is being able to do just that - point and shoot"- Andrew S. Adler
If that's not Momtography 101, we don't know what is!
Browsing through photo albums on facebook (one of my favorite past times), I almost fell out of my chair when I saw this one! HOW FREAKING CUTE!!!! :) I absolutely loved the way sky was so bright and beautiful at the same time so was Violet! You can imagine how excited I was to find out that my good friend Julia's (you may have heard of her she started a totally awesome site, Planet Awesome Kid)photographer husband had taken this shot, not with his oodles of fancy equipment but with his trusty Canon S90 point and shoot!

Keep reading for a little bonus mini tutorial about shooting at the beach, straight from the man himself! Thanks Andrew!

Momtography 101: Always Be Prepared!
Traveling late through the night Ivana and Maximillian found themselves in Paris in the wee hours of the morning waiting for a connecting flight. Exhausted from the many hours of traveling she had done already and the thought of the many more to come, Ivana wrapped her baby boy up and laid him down on the chair next to her. But rather then relaxing alongside little Max she realized the moment was to picture perfect to pass up. Thank goodness her camera was nearby to capture what is now one of her favorite pictures of all time!
Shot with her Canon EOS 500D, lens 50mm 1.8 and plenty of window light.

One hot Sunday afternoon in a park in Harlem, three bored girls decided there had to be something they could do while their little siblings napped! "I've got it!!!" shouted one, "we'll have a scooter date!". "A scooter date?!" shouted the other. "No" said the third. The other two looked at her puzzled for a moment, and then she shouted, " THE GREAT SCOOTER RACE!!!!!". "YAAAAAAY" all three shouted and jumped for joy. And so it was, the afternoon of, The Great Scooter Race. :)
Ok, Ok, you got me, it wasn't at all that dramatic or sophisticated, but this is the story that came to mind as she her uttered those words!
In reality it was a scooter play date arranged by us mommies for the big sisters, while the little ones napped. But when my dear sweet Chloë said, "Mommy is it time to go to the great scooter race yet?", my hear melted and I said, "You mean the scooter date with your friends?" to which she replied, "YES MOMMY! The GREAT SCOOTER RACE!"
Now I really understand where that old Bill Cosby, "Kids Say The Darndest Things" came from! :)
And they're off!

Someone's getting GRUMPY, time for a chocolate break (they are such girls already... chocolate makes everything better!)

Momtography 101: you don't need a fancy camera to get great shots of your family!
Take Sharon for example, with her trusty canon powershot on hand, it was all about timing and composition. As her little Ace put her superior art skills to work, her mom waited for the sun to be in just the right spot, then it was all about composition. The framing in this shot ROCKS! GREAT shot Sharon!

There is nothing like a flower in bloom to conjure thoughts of spring and new beginnings-- Of life and beauty, and the everyday miracles that surround us. I am posting today's picture as a reminder to myself and anyone else who might find themselves stuck, feeling overwhelmed,or like they just can't move.
The flowers are in bloom all around us, our lives are in bloom as well. Take this moment to take a deep breath and just start something. Pick up the project you started and never finished. Pick up the book you've been meaning to read. Grab your camera and commit to taking a picture a day. It doesn't matter what it is, just start something to remind yourself that you can.
